A few clues to get started

Explore nature, water, lakes, sky. Look for these features as you bring the picture together:

• Follow straight lines in buildings, windows, or streets when they are visible. Repeated windows can be deceptive, so check a corner, shadow, or change of color before joining them.
• Separate light areas from shadow first. Follow the edge of a bright patch and compare warm and cool shades rather than treating every orange or pink piece as a match.
• If water meets land or sky, build that boundary first. Treat reflections as a separate area: similar colors can appear on both sides of the shoreline without being neighboring pieces.
