A few clues to get started

Explore nature, mountains, landscape. Look for these features as you bring the picture together:

• Use a visible ridgeline or cliff edge to divide sky from land. Match the angle of that line, then work into rock, snow, or shadow only where those details appear.
• In pale or snowy areas, compare blue and gray shadows rather than grouping every light piece together. Any darker outline is a useful starting point.
