A few clues to get started
Explore nature, ocean, underwater, water. Look for these features as you bring the picture together:
- For underwater subjects, separate the outlines of any fish or coral from the surrounding blue. Use small changes in brightness to organize the less detailed background.
- Follow printed outlines and transitions between color blocks. With repeating patterns or gradients, confirm both piece shape and the direction of the color change.
- If water meets land or sky, build that boundary first. Treat reflections as a separate area: similar colors can appear on both sides of the shoreline without being neighboring pieces.
