What makes a puzzle hard
Piece count is only half of it. Pictures with repeating texture — leaves, sand, waves, stars — have few landmarks, so you have to match by subtle shifts in colour and the shape of each piece.
A strategy that works
Build the border first, then sort by brightness rather than colour name. Lock the few unique details — a tree trunk, a horizon, a shoreline — and grow outward. Turn the ghost outline off once you know the picture.
The daily Expert challenge
For a race, the daily puzzle has an Expert track of 108 pieces. Everyone gets the same picture at 00:00 UTC, and signed-in players can post their time on the world ladder.
